Popular Samsung insider Ice Universe has delivered the first renders of the Galaxy Note 20 and they are significantly different from the educated guesses we have had to rely on until now. Moreover, not everyone will be pleased at what they see.

While Ice Universe warns users to ignore the bezel size in this preview, what it does show is Samsung will make the entry-level Note 20 almost identical to the entry-level Galaxy S20. On the front, this means the same flat display and centred hole-punch camera (putting leaks about an under-display camera to bed) and, on the back, a matching vertical triple camera array.

That said, the bigger changes will come with the Galaxy Note 20+ with Ice also revealing that it will have an upgraded version of the Galaxy S20 Ultra’s 108MP camera with “a new sensor to assist in focusing and completely solve the focusing problem”. This would be a big deal for the Note 20+ and yet another step up compared to the Galaxy S20 lineup, given it already includes superior biometrics, a vastly more efficient display, faster storage and Samsung’s primary focus: a major S Pen upgrade.

Of course, the big concern for Samsung is price with Apple’s iPhone 12 set to drastically undercut it. That said, as all Note fans know, you can’t do this with an iPhone.
